Best Experiences on Skadar Lake for this tour

Welcome to the one of the most precious hidden jewels of Montenegro The settlement Karuč was formed on the same hill on the shore of Lake Skadar. It came as a fishing season habitat for storage and preservation of fishing equipment. It was not until the mid-19th century that it became permanently inhabited. It is 20km away from Podgorica, going the old road to Cetinje. The oldest building in the settlement is the Tower of Saint Petar, built on the highest elevation of the conical hill. It is better known as a winter cottage of prince-bishop Petar I Petrović, who built it in the first or second decade of the 19th century. The settling then started spreading and houses were built on lower elevations reaching even the water of the lake. There is a loop-hole on the façade of the tower, confirming the defending character it used to have, besides the residential. After Petar I died, there was a school in the tower around 1871.Karuč is a typical fishing settlement whose inhabitants only dealt with fishing, using the lake wells of fresh water rich with fish, such as Karuč and Volačka jama. Because of the insufficiency of space for building, densely built houses can be found, optimally adapted to the ground configuration. All this gave this settling a terraced look. Most of the preserved original houses and housings still have distinctive qualities of traditional architecture.

Rijeka Crnojevića (Montenegrin Cyrillic: Ријека Црнојевића, lit. "River of Crnojević") is a town in Montenegro on the eponymous Rijeka Crnojevića river, near the coast of Skadar lake. History The Ottomans captured Žabljak Crnojevića in 1478 after they defeated main army of Ivan Crnojević in late 1477 or early 1478.[1] Ivan moved his seat to Obod (fortified by him in 1475[2]) which was soon renamed to Rijeka Crnojevića, and became the new capital of Montenegro.[3] Rijeka Crnojevića was the historical seat of the Riječka nahija,[4] one of the four territorial units of Old Montenegro.

Rijeka Crnojevića bridge (Serbian: Мост на Ријеци Црнојевића, romanized: Most na Rijeci Crnojevića), also known as Danilo's Bridge (Serbian: Данилов мост, romanized: Danilov most) is a bridge in Rijeka Crnojevića, Montenegro. The bridge spans the Crnojević River[1] and is one of the most important historical monuments and tourist attractions in Cetinje municipality. The bridge connected Rijeka Crnojevića with the medieval town of Obod, located on a hilltop across the river, which was the location of the first South Slavic printing house. History Building of the bridge was commissioned in 1853 by the Montenegrin Prince Danilo, who erected the bridge in memory of his father Stanko Petrović.[2] On the left bank of the river, adjacent to the bridge, Danilo also built a one-story house, popularly called Mostina.[3] Danilo's bridge replaced the previous wooden bridge across the river, which was built by his predecessor Petar II Petrović-Njegoš. Characteristics Danilo's Bridge is a double-arched limestone bridge. Its total length is 43 meters.

The Pavlova Strana viewpoint
This the most famous spot of the Skadar Lake area - a must see best experience at Skadar Lake.
It is a long the road around the Skadar Lake.
As well you can see the spot from the boat and have the view to even Albania on good weather.
You get stunning views from several places along the road and there are two options for parking.
The first one is just a pullout from the road and it has room for a few cars. At this spot, you are closest to the river and it is easy to just step out of the car, take in the view and snap some photos.
Unless you have a camera with a wide-angle lens, you will have to make a panorama to fit the whole scene. At this spot there can also be vegetation obscuring part of the river. The view is gorgeous though, and the photos turned out alright.

Nearest to Pavlova Strana viewpoint and Rijeka Crnojevića.

This gives you a perfect starting position to explore the Skadar Lake. Our ecological family restaurant has the highest recomendation rate in Montanegero. Plus the terraces with best view on the Skadar Lake - don't miss a wine in the sun set.
